Pest Inspections

A pest inspection can be essential to identify any pest activity, in particular from termites, which may be causing internal damage to the structure of the property.

  1. When you get your building inspected, one of the critical things to know is whether or not there are pests. Our inspectors are qualified pest inspectors and controllers. Once you get our report, you will also find out what it will take to remove or control any pests.
  2. Combining your building inspection with a pest inspection, you get the most comprehensive report available.

Inspected Areas

Some of the areas inspected for pests include:

  • Sub floor area
  • Structural timber elements
  • Roof structure
  • Doors
  • Door frames
  • Skirtings
  • Out-buildings
  • Fences
  • External building elements
  • External landscape elements (like old trees)

Why is a pest inspection important before I buy?

1

Pests can be your worst nightmare. Not discovering them before you buy can land you with a difficult, and potentially expensive, problem to deal with later.

2

Some pests are hard to spot, and others harder to remove. Knowing what you are dealing with and how to remove it is essential. Most houses are an incredible source of food and shelter for pests, and no matter how clean the previous owner was, they can still move in.

3

As an insurance policy, a pre-purchase pest inspection gives you peace of mind. Your property is one of the most important assets you will own. Protect it.

Every home is susceptible to pest infestation. The most common timber pests are termites, wood borers and wood rot, which can cause serious damage to the structural integrity of your property. A compromised timber structure can not only cost thousands of dollars to fix but will also force you and your family out of your home. Most importantly, these pests can make the property unsafe to live in.

This is why it’s critical to perform a pre-purchase pest inspection before you buy your next Adelaide home. With an independent report in your hand, you can make an informed decision about the value of a home and whether it’s right for you.

If you are already a home owner, having scheduled timber pest inspections is a good idea.
At DGN 13 Contructions we undertake thorough scheduled termite inspections and provide clients with a comprehensive photographic report in accordance with AS3660.2-2000. Our white ant inspection and report will show you if your property has any active termites as well as inform you of any conditions around your property that may be condusive to termite infestation. Once your inspection is completed your report will be emailed on the same day. Scheduled termite inspections are mostly conducted every 12 months, however if there is termite activity or conditions have become condusive to termites we may recommend a more regular frequency of inspections.
